Guy Suing Microsoft For $600 Million After Upgrade Destroyed His PC

Forget Matlock. If you’re going to court for anything, it appears as though Frank K. Dickman Jr. is the guy you want in your corner.

According to Alphr, Dickman is suing Microsoft for $600 million after the Albuquerque native said they “forced” him to upgrade his Asus laptop, which was running on Windows 7, to Windows 10, and it basically rendered that laptop unusable.

“The upgrade deleted the cached, or backup, version of Windows 7,” the complaint states. “The only sensible remedy is for Microsoft to supply the OEM version of its operating system by download from its website and confirmed by the key code which came with the computer. The owner is demanding that Microsoft supply the Windows 7 operating system because the only way I can be certain of a quality Windows 7 Operating System is to obtain it from the original vendor – Microsoft Corporation.”

It’s highly unlikely that Dickman will see anything close to that $600 million he is seeking from Microsoft, but the good news for him is that German officials recently took Microsoft to court, and they reached an agreement to stop forcing upgrades on computers over there.

So maybe at the worst they’ll just pay for his plane ticket to Hamburg.
