Game of Thrones Actor Returns For First Time In Three Seasons

The night is dark and full of terrors. But this post is full of Game of Thrones SPOILERS, which you find more terrifying than any shadow demon that Melisandre can conjure. If you don’t want to know who is coming back to the series for the sixth season then you should stop reading now!

Back in the third season of Game of Thrones, the infamous Red Wedding saw the massacre of Robb Stark and nearly everyone who accompanied him to The Twins. But there was at least one member of Robb’s party who was lucky enough to have escaped the slaughter: Brynden Tully, a man better known by his nickname: “The Blackfish.”

The Spanish Game of Thrones fan site Los Siete Reinos is reporting that actor Clive Russell has been spotted on the set reprising his role as Blackfish Tully. And here’s where the major SPOILER WARNING comes in.

Blackfish apparently made his way back to Riverrun, his family’s castle. Therefore, the sixth season will adapt the Siege of Riverrun, with Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and Bronn (Jerome Flynn) attempting to break the Tully defenses on behalf of King Tommen.

Currently, the fate of Edmure Tully (Tobias Menzies) remains unresolved. When last mentioned on the series, Edmure was reportedly a prisoner of Walder Frey (David Bradley), the man who was awarded control of Riverrun in exchange for murdering the Starks and the Tullys at the Red Wedding.

Game of Thrones Season 6 will premiere on HBO in Spring 2016.
