Jurgen Klopp Introduces Himself to Premier League By Branding Himself “The Normal One”

Jurgen Klopp has already endeared himself to Liverpool fans following his official appointment as the club’s new manager, making a self-deprecating joke as he fielded questions from reporters assembled at Anfield.

When a reporter asked the former Borussia Dortmund manager whether he had a moniker for himself similar to Jose Mourinho’s “The Special One,” Klopp replied: “I’m the normal one.” Klopp also stated that he had been brought in by Liverpool’s owners in order to handle a “difficult” situation, though also told the assembled press that he didn’t believe the club’s current poor Premier League standing was as difficult to overcome as others believed. 

Klopp’s former club also posted a message of congratulations on their official Facebook page, though they seem to be unaware that Abbey Road can be found in London, even though The Beatles were born and raised in Merseyside:

Liverpool held a press conference at 10 am today, introducing Klopp as their new manager following the sacking of Brendan Rodgers. Klopp will manage his first game with Liverpool when they take on Tottenham at White Hart Lane, which will take place next weekend following the international break.
