SXSW 2014 VIDEO: Robert Rodriguez on From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series

Robert Rodriguez went from making ultra-low budget action movies to making modestly low budget action franchises that transformed him into a household name for film lovers anywhere. Now he has a television network all his own, El Rey, and he’s revisiting one of his earliest films to turn it into a headlining original series. The film: From Dusk Till Dawn, a 1996 horror-crime hybrid that starred George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino (who also wrote the screenplay).

In this CraveOnline Exclusive video from SXSW 2014, Robert Rodriguez explains why he went back to From Dusk Till Dawn in order to produce a TV series, his plans for every season, Quentin Tarantino’s reaction, how “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series” will deviate from the original film, a promise to explain the unforgettable final shot of the movie, his upcoming special agent soccer player TV series “Matador,” his new Frank Frazetta museum (where you can see production art from his upcoming Fire & Ice remake), and more.

“From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series” premieres on the El Rey Network on March 11, 2014.
