Summer camp is getting an R-rated makeover, and two popular streaming stars are leading the charge.
A new promotional poster has dropped for Meatballs, Crave’s upcoming comedy series, giving fans a first look at the raunchy camp romp.
The pop-culture news account Buzzing Pop recently shared a poster for Meatballs on their X account. It features the Heated Rivalry star Robbie G. K. and Gen V star Maddie Phillips, posing in front of a lake. The caption on the poster reads, “Summer Camp has never been this hot,” teasing the premise of the upcoming comedy series by Crave.
In the series, G.K. stars as Dale, and Phillips steps into the role of Skipper. While an exact premiere date has not yet been locked in, Meatballs is slated to debut on Crave in 2027, spanning eight 30-minute episodes.
Meatballs puts a raunchy new spin on the 1979 Canadian comedy classic
Meatballs is being developed as a raunchy reimagining of the beloved 1979 Canadian comedy classic by Ivan Reitman. The 1979 movie featured Bill Murray, Harvey Atkin, Kate Lynch, Russ Banham, Kristine DeBell, Sarah Torgov, and more. According to Deadline, the updated series follows a group of chaotic counselors making terrible decisions at a failing summer camp.
The official synopsis reads, “With a little hard work and a lot of good vibes, the camp still has the potential to be the best place on earth for 200 lucky kids. Or, more importantly, for the counselors who call it their home away from home, it’s the best place to pitch a tent.”
The upcoming series is made by Blink49 Studios and Incendo. It features Mollie Guest, Jordan Kronis, Molly Lewis, Krista Nazaire, Markus McNamara, and Lachlan Quarmby. Guest actors include Lauren Ash, Mae Martin, and Randall Park. Meanwhile, Jeff Detsky and Wendy Litner will serve as the showrunners.
