South Park Trolls Donald Trump While Celebrating Emmy Win After 13-Year Drought

South Park celebrated its Emmy victory by taking yet another shot at Donald Trump. The animated sitcom won Outstanding Animated Program at the 2026 Emmys for “Sermon on the ‘Mount,” ending a 13-year wait for another win in the category.

The victory marks the series’ first win for Outstanding Animated Program since 2013. South Park celebrated the achievement on social media with a post congratulating Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and the team. However, the accompanying image quickly shifted attention toward the US President and his history with the Emmys.

A milestone Emmy win quickly became a Trump roast

The official South Park account wrote, “Congratulations to Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and the entire South Park team on their Emmy win for Outstanding Animated Program!” They also posted a picture showing a cartoon version of Trump holding an Emmy while his pants are down. They added the caption, “YOU FINALLY GOT YOUR EMMY.”

Donald Trump has frequently criticized the Emmys over the years. His reality series, The Apprentice, received several Emmy nominations during its run but never won Outstanding Reality-Competition Program. South Park has now used its own Emmy victory to turn that history into another punchline.

The joke is particularly fitting because “Sermon on the Mount” itself aims at Donald Trump. It featured a controversial and aggressive parody of the President, continuing the show’s long-running tradition of satirizing politicians, celebrities, and major cultural figures. Trump has been a recurring target of the sitcom’s humor.

The 2026 victory adds another Emmy to South Park’s record in the animated-program category. The series previously won awards in 2005, 2007, 2009, and 2013. Its latest award, therefore, ends more than a decade without a win in the category.

The celebration comes shortly before South Park returns for Season 29. The new season premieres September 16, 2026, on Comedy Central and Paramount+. The timing gives the series another opportunity to continue its topical political humor following its latest Emmy-winning episode.
