It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 18 will release on August 17, 2026, on Hulu. Alongside the promotional poster for the new season, the comedy TV series has confirmed that Season 18 will offer more episodes.
Compared to the last three seasons, each with eight episodes, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 18 will feature 10 episodes, reports Variety. It’s like a return to old tradition for the show, as the early seasons were longer.
Between Seasons 8 and 14, the show had 10 episodes per season. Looking back at the show’s early days, Seasons 2 through 7 ranged between 10 and 15 episodes each.

The official synopsis for It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 18 reads, “Charlie (Charlie Day), Mac (Rob Mac), Dennis (Glenn Howerton), Dee (Kaitlin Olson), and Frank (Danny DeVito) are wrapped up in salvaging inheritances from a dead woman, surviving tent encampments and the great inside-outside divide between the haves and have-nots, withstanding job loss at the hands of workplace automation, embracing a newfound appreciation for neurodivergence, questioning the fabric of society against conspiracy theories, and of course — the biggest elephant in the room — outlasting the public’s pendulum swing against drinking.”
It’s been revealed that Season 18 will have the “most outrageous moments yet, with loads of star cameos, as well as nods to both iconic Philly traditions and other classic TV sitcoms.”
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 18 has Rob McElhenney as the creator and executive producer alongside Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, Michael Rotenberg, and Nicholas Frenkel. David Hornsby, Rob Rosell, Scott Marder, Dave Chernin, John Chernin, and Vanessa McGee are also executive producers.
