The new Yellowstone sequel TV series has made history for Paramount in just seven days. Dutton Ranch premiered on May 15 and has shattered Paramount+ viewership records with Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser in key roles.
What Paramount+ record did Dutton Ranch break?
Marking the biggest original TV series launch in Paramount+ history, Dutton Ranch garnered 12.9 million viewers in just a week of its premiere. Coming from Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, the Yellowstone spin-off also topped Nielsen’s streaming charts as the No.1 series based on average audience for the week of May 11, according to preliminary data.
Additionally, Dutton Ranch drew 2.9 million total viewers on its premiere night for the first two episodes on Paramount Network. The first episode alone attracted 1.9 million viewers, registering the largest series premiere on cable in the last three years. It also ranked as the top-performing cable entertainment telecast on premiere day among both adults aged 18-49 and total viewers.
Stellar reviews back the impressive viewership figures. Much like its predecessor, the sequel TV series has attracted solid reactions from both critics and fans. It currently holds a solid 88% Tomatometer score and 83% Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The spin-off features Reilly and Hauser in lead roles, returning as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler. The main story follows them as they “fight to build a future together – far from the ghosts of Yellowstone – they collide with brutal new realities and a ruthless rival ranch that will stop at nothing to protect its empire. In South Texas, blood runs deeper, forgiveness is fleeting, and the cost of survival might just be your soul.”
Other cast members on the show include Ed Harris, Annette Bening, Finn Little, Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, J.R. Villarreal, Marc Menchaca, and Natalie Alyn Lind.
Dutton Ranch has Chad Feehan as the showrunner and executive producer. The characters are created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, who are also serving as executive producers alongside David C. Glasser, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, Reilly, Hauser, and Keith Cox.
