Sydney Sweeney’s upcoming Sleepy Hollow remake has reportedly found another potential cast member, with Nicholas Galitzine linked to the project. The Masters of the Universe star is said to be in talks for the role of Ichabod Crane in the gothic reimagining. If confirmed, his casting would place him alongside Sweeney in a prominent role in the upcoming Sony Pictures film.
Nicholas Galitzine rumored for Sydney Sweeney’s Sleepy Hollow remake
Nicholas Galitzine is reportedly in talks to join Sydney Sweeney in the upcoming Sleepy Hollow remake.
According to well-known scooper MyTimeToShineHello, the actor is being considered for the role of Ichabod Crane. The scooper shared on X (formerly Twitter), “Nicholas Galitzine is in talks to star as Ichabod Crane alongside Sydney Sweeney in Hollow, Lindsey Anderson Beer’s gothic take on Sleepy Hollow for Sony.” However, neither Sony nor the actors have officially confirmed the report.
Unlike the traditional telling of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, the film will place Katrina at the center of the story instead of Crane. Sweeney’s character will navigate a supernatural mystery and a love triangle in the gothic psychological thriller.
Meanwhile, Belmont Cameli has joined the cast as Brom Bones, another key character in Katrina’s story. Lindsey Anderson Beer is writing and directing the adaptation, based on her forthcoming debut novel, Hollowed: A Sleepy Hollow Reimagining.
Sony Pictures acquired the film following a competitive bidding process. Sweeney will produce through her Honey Trap banner, with LuckyChap and Beer’s Lab Brew also backing the project. Putnam, an imprint of Penguin Random House, acquired Beer’s novel after a competitive auction. The book is scheduled for publication in fall 2027, with translations planned for its international release.
No release date has been announced for the film, which remains in development. Further casting and production details have yet to be officially revealed.
