Kate Middleton and Prince William are gradually preparing Prince George for his future royal duties. However, the couple remains determined to avoid historical “heir and spare” rivalries. According to an insider, the royal parents want all three of their children treated equally.
Sources say the Waleses want a different family dynamic
According to Closer, Kate Middleton and Prince William do not want any of their children to feel left out. Prince George is expected to return from school for a break to spend time with family. The Princess of Wales reportedly can’t wait for her son to return home. Closer’s insider said Middleton and William are keen for their son to keep up his royal studies and prepare him for a bigger role. “William is very keen to use this time with his son to really dig into some important preparations,” the source said.
The Prince of Wales has “been gradually teaching George about his future role for years.” However, “now that Charles is handing more responsibility to William, there’s a bigger sense of urgency to it all.” The source continued, “George has been studying royal history, but William also wants him to understand what’s happening within the family and the monarchy right now.” Thus, “he’s starting to involve him in discussions about current issues.” William also wants George “to sit in on some meetings during his break from school.” This is, “so he can see first-hand how decisions are made.”
However, Middleton reportedly doesn’t want her son to feel burdened with responsibilities or become alienated from Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. According to the source, Charlotte and Louis are also “being educated about the monarchy and what their own roles will eventually involve.” The couple “want all three children to feel like they’re part of a team, rather than having George treated as the important one while the others are pushed into the background.” The source added, “They know how damaging that sort of dynamic can be within a family, and they’re determined not to repeat the mistakes of the past.”
