Donald Trump’s Bizarre Story About Republican’s Weight Gets Derailed by Protester

President Donald Trump’s attempt to praise an Iowa candidate took an unexpected turn when a protester interrupted his remarks at a rally. Trump was discussing the candidate’s weight loss when the disruption cut into the story he wanted to tell.

President Donald Trump began by praising Republican candidate Ashley Hinson, saying she would be “outstanding” in Washington. He then shifted to her past weight, acknowledging that his comments might be “inappropriate” and recalling that Hinson had asked him not to bring up the subject. The crowd laughed as Trump described her as once having been “heavier” (via Mediaite).

Trump said Hinson recognized the challenge and decided to get in shape through traditional methods rather than using weight-loss injections. “She went out, the old-fashioned way, too — not with, you know, give me a shot — the old-fashioned way,” Trump said.

He was still talking about it when a protester interrupted. Trump told the audience not to worry, describing the demonstrator as a “gnat“ and a “little fly.” The crowd responded with chants of “USA, USA!”

The president then accused protesters of receiving money to disrupt his rallies. He claimed that two or three usually show up at each event, receive $250 and get funding from George Soros. Trump called them “losers” and complained that they always interrupt just as he reaches the punchline of a story.

After the interruption, Trump returned to Hinson’s weight loss. He said she followed a regimen, got herself into shape, and did so because she understood the importance of her work. He described her as being in “perfect shape” while adding that she had also looked good before losing weight. Trump then joked about his own appearance, telling the crowd he had gained some weight as well. “Me, I put on a couple of pounds,” Trump said to the crowd.
