A new rumor has suggested how Wolverine‘s story may play out in Avengers: Secret Wars. The sequel is currently scheduled for a theatrical release in December 2027. Although not much information is available regarding the movie or its plot, Marvel head Kevin Feige has confirmed that it will act as a kind of soft reboot for the MCU.
New rumor describes Wolverine’s dynamics in Avengers: Secret Wars
A rumor has suggested what Wolverine’s dynamics with fellow superheroes in Avengers: Secret Wars may look like. However, Marvel Studios has not yet confirmed whether Wolverine will be part of the upcoming film.
X user @JamesMackwl recently shared in a post, “Wolverine is being described in the Avengers Secret Wars script as Hates working in a team, but he’s trying, Hates SpiderWebs, But He’s Kind.” This suggests the movie could explore Wolverine’s dynamic with Spider-Man, though it is not specified which variant this would be.
At present, the status of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man appearing in the movie is uncertain. Secret Wars is set to follow on directly from the events of Avengers: Doomsday. In October, Jackman spoke with Variety and was asked about his potential appearance in Doomsday and Secret Wars. However, the actor remained tight-lipped, replying, “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I have no idea what you’re talking about.” He also joked about Marvel’s strong policy regarding giving spoilers and said, “I do have an internal chip; that is not metaphorical. There’s a literal chip, and if I say the wrong thing, I get shut down. I don’t know who controls that chip, but someone is controlling it.”
Jackman was last seen as Wolverine in the 2024 movie Deadpool & Wolverine alongside Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. As previously reported by SuperHeroHype, a scoop from My Time To Shine Hello (MTTSH) suggested that Jackman and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man will team up in Secret Wars for a major quest.
