Blade Runner 2099 to hit Prime Video in less than a month
Blade Runner 2099 will premiere on Prime Video on November 25, 2026.
Set five decades after Blade Runner 2049, the eight-episode limited series is led by showrunner Silka Luisa. Ridley Scott returns as an executive producer, and all eight episodes are scheduled to arrive on the same day. The franchise is based on Philip K. Dick’s 1968 novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, which was adapted into Scott’s 1982 film Blade Runner. The sequel movie Blade Runner 2049, directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring Ryan Gosling in the lead role, was released in 2017.
In 2099, Los Angeles has undergone a dramatic shift in power following an uprising, with Replicants now occupying the upper ranks of society and humans left with fewer privileges. Against this backdrop, Olwen, a Replicant whose life is drawing to a close, faces a new challenge when she crosses paths with Cora. A human living under a false identity, Cora assumes the role of a Blade Runner as she attempts to leave her fugitive past behind.
The two join forces to track down a group of rogue Replicants. However, their search for a fugitive brings them closer to a secret that could threaten the city’s fragile order. Michelle Yeoh stars as Olwen, while Hunter Schafer portrays Cora. The series’ cast also features Dimitri Abold, Lewis Gribben, Katelyn Rose Downey, Daniel Rigby, and Johnny Harris.
