Kate Middleton is reportedly very “confident” in herself and has no intention of entering a “popularity contest” with Meghan Markle. Since returning to the UK, Prince Harry and Markle have been making various public appearances.
They recently made their first joint public appearance in the UK in Nottingham, which reportedly went well. While Meghan is said to be overjoyed with the success of the outing, sources claim that Kate is not at all worried about her popularity.
Kate Middleton isn’t interested in ‘popularity contest’ with Meghan Markle, per source
Kate Middleton is reportedly “hardly running scared” of Meghan Markle’s growing popularity in the UK. For the unversed, Meghan and Prince Harry visited Nottingham on October 15, 2026. This marked their first public outing together since returning to Britain.
A huge crowd welcomed the couple, and Harry and Meghan spent the day highlighting youth empowerment and mental health support, among other causes. The couple hugged fans, took selfies, and appeared happy as they engaged with the crowd.
The outing was reportedly a huge success, with Meghan receiving plenty of praise for how she came across in Nottingham. A source told the National Examiner, “She’s managed to give Kate a run for her money on her home turf, and of course, that’s very satisfying.” The source added that while Markle won’t brag about it, she is loving the attention.
Meanwhile, as far as Kate is concerned, the source said that “she has seen all the coverage, which has largely been positive.” Moreover, since she keeps tabs on Meghan, she knows that her recent visit was a massive success. However, that does not mean she is “running scared,” the source claimed.
Kate herself is “very confident” and “has no interest” in entering a “popularity contest” with Meghan, the source noted. However, given the allegedly strained relationship between the two, Kate reportedly does not enjoy hearing Meghan being praised at her expense.
