The Terminal List Season 2 has finally arrived on Prime Video. The new season premiered earlier this week, bringing James Reece back. Early reviews are already looking better than Season 1. However, not every fan seems fully convinced yet.
The Terminal List Season 2 reviews and Rotten Tomatoes score are better than Season 1
The Terminal List season 2 officially premiered on October 21, 2026. All eight episodes are now available on Amazon Prime Video. The new season adapts Jack Carr’s second book, True Believer. Chris Pratt returns as James Reece.
This time, the story moves beyond personal revenge. International espionage becomes a much bigger part of the action. That shift has received mixed reactions from longtime fans. Some fans preferred the first season’s more personal storyline and some criticized its slow pacing and story.
The Rotten Tomatoes scores show a clear difference between seasons. Season 2 currently has a 57% critics score and it’s fan score stands at 86%. Meanwhile, Season 1 holds 42% from critics and 94% from fans.
The critics’ response has improved, but fan scores dropped. Still, most fans reactions appear generally positive so far. Many have praised the action and Chris Pratt’s performance. Some also believe the new season was worth waiting for.
Screen Rant’s Nick Bythrow praised the second season’s overall execution. He wrote, “Taken as a whole, The Terminal List season 2 is a strong follow-up to season 1 and Dark Wolf, elevating the series to new highs in the process.”
Collider’s Michael John Petty also shared a positive assessment. He wrote, “Whether you followed James Reece first on the page or on screen, Season 2 leans into everything that makes the franchise work and refuses to walk back everything else.”
FandomWire’s M.N. Miller highlighted the change in storytelling. “The Terminal List’s second season trades the revenge-thriller format and emotional depth for international intrigue, delivering an adrenaline-fueled, high-octane espionage thriller that takes a few episodes to find its footing.”
Season 2 expands beyond Reece’s personal revenge story into international action and espionage. While it offers more action, it may lack the emotional depth that made Season 1 popular, leaving fans divided.
