Prince Harry reportedly wants to build on the positive reception he and Meghan Markle received during their recent public appearances in Britain. The Duke of Sussex was said to be encouraged by the warm welcome they received in Nottingham and eager to make more UK visits.
According to a source, Harry views any royal “resentment” as “jealousy” and has no intention of letting it discourage the couple. However, the report suggested that their future UK appearances would remain separate from official royal duties.
Prince Harry won’t let ‘jealousy’ from royals stop his and Meghan Markle’s UK outings, per source
According to a National Examiner report, Prince Harry was delighted by the reception he and Meghan Markle received in Nottingham. “Harry’s absolutely thrilled with the reception they got,” a source claimed. The insider described the response as “proof that there’s still a huge appetite” for the Sussexes’ work.
Their October 15 visit marked their first joint UK appearance since moving back to Britain. According to PEOPLE, around 100 people gathered outside Community Recording Studio to welcome them. Meghan also told one supporter, “It’s great to be back.” The couple visited Epic Partners and Himmah Hub during their day in Nottingham.
However, the source suggested that Harry’s enthusiasm was also tied to tensions within the royal family. The Duke reportedly “thinks any resentment from the other royals would come down to jealousy.” Nevertheless, the insider insisted that “he’s not about to let that stop him.”
The source further claimed that Harry believed he and Meghan connected with the public in a “more natural and relevant” way. He had also reportedly told Meghan that his mother “would have loved what they’re doing.” According to the insider, Harry viewed the couple’s work as “carrying on Diana’s spirit.” These remarks were attributed to the source and were not direct statements from Harry.
More significantly, the insider claimed Harry had discussed expanding the couple’s UK appearances. He was reportedly “talking about whether a proper return to royal duties might be worth considering.” However, the source suggested that any potential arrangement would come with an important condition: the couple would need “independence” while allowing Meghan to continue pursuing her own career.
There has been no official announcement of a return to working-royal status. For now, the Sussexes’ Nottingham engagements were charitable visits rather than official palace duties. Nevertheless, the report suggested that Harry remained keen to build on the positive public response, regardless of the alleged royal “resentment.”
