Meghan Markle Blasted for ‘Merching’ Her Kids in New Video

Meghan Markle is facing fresh criticism after sharing a new social media video featuring her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The clip showed the siblings walking along a tree-lined country road with backpacks as they headed past a herd of deer. Some praised the sweet family moment. Others questioned why the kids’ video highlighted the children’s backpacks despite the couple’s long-standing privacy and security concerns.

Fans criticize Meghan Markle for showing her kids with backpacks in new video

Meghan shared the footage on her Instagram Stories on October 11. The clip showed Archie riding a scooter while Princess Lilibet walked beside him, both carrying backpacks. Their faces were not visible, and the family’s Labrador, Pula, appeared as deer crossed the path in the distance. The video featured The Temptations’ “My Girl.”

Royal commentator Nancy Sidley reshared the clip and questioned the decision to feature the children. “At this point, merching their kids’ backpacks and showing them in their school uniforms seem far more important to Harry and Meghan than their children’s safety,” she wrote.

Several users also debated whether the children were wearing British school uniforms. One commenter wrote, “Weird school uniforms. In the UK, all private schools tend to have rucksacks with the school emblem on them.” Another user replied that they had found a school with similar gray trousers and navy sweaters but declined to identify it.

Other commenters questioned the video’s connection to the Sussexes’ previous security concerns. “Any parent knows you don’t show your kids’ backpacks and don’t put their names on them,” one user wrote.

The criticism comes weeks after reports that Archie and Lilibet had moved to a different school in the UK. A spokesperson for the Sussexes said the decision followed discussions with the family’s security team about the practicalities of their arrangements. Neither Meghan nor Harry has publicly addressed the latest criticism of the video
