Kate Middleton and Princess Charlotte took a rare public-transport trip together in London on October 10. The Princess of Wales and her 11-year-old daughter rode the Elizabeth Line alongside fellow commuters before exiting at Tottenham Court Road.
According to Hello!, the pair appeared relaxed throughout the journey. They reportedly chatted with passengers sitting opposite them while discreet royal security remained nearby. The eyewitness said Kate held Charlotte’s hand as they exited at Tottenham Court Road. The source added that Charlotte looked “amazed” as she experienced the London Tube.
Meanwhile, Kate briefly checked her phone during the ride. The two were also seen smiling and chatting with each other throughout the journey. The mother-daughter outing also caught the attention of royal watchers on social media, with one commenter calling Charlotte a “little darling.”
It remains unclear where the royal pair were headed. However, Tottenham Court Road is close to several popular attractions, including Oxford Street, Soho, the British Museum, and London’s West End theaters. The outing offered another glimpse into Kate’s close bond with her daughter. Over the years, the two have shared several mother-daughter moments, including attending a performance of The Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House.
Charlotte has also developed a passion for dance, alongside interests in tennis and hockey. Prince William previously revealed that his daughter enjoys performing after speaking with a young dance student during a royal engagement.
The Elizabeth Line also has a royal connection. Named in honor of Charlotte’s late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, the railway was officially opened by the monarch in May 2022. Kate and Prince William also traveled on the line in May 2023, ahead of King Charles III’s coronation.
