Prince Harry’s ‘No Drama’ Rule Won’t Steal Royal Limelight on Remembrance Day — Report

Prince Harry is reportedly planning to mark Remembrance Day privately this year, choosing not to make a public appearance alongside the Royal Family. According to a friend, the Duke of Sussex has no intention of creating tension around the solemn occasion or drawing attention away from the royals. The reported approach comes as Harry continues to maintain his own connection to military causes while living outside the official working royal fold.

Prince Harry to mark Remembrance Day ‘privately’ to avoid ‘pulling focus’ from royal family, claims friend

Prince Harry is reportedly planning to mark Remembrance Sunday privately this year, rather than joining the Royal Family at the Cenotaph in London. A friend says the Duke of Sussex wants the focus to remain on the national commemorations and those being remembered.

“He’s not going to do anything that would pull focus from the Royal Family or the national commemorations at the Cenotaph in London,” says a friend as per HELLO!. “More likely, he’ll mark it in the same way that most veterans do, privately, either at church or at their local war memorial’s annual service.” “For Harry, Remembrance Sunday is a deeply personal and important occasion, a time to honour those who have served, remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice and stand alongside veterans,” says the friend.

Harry served in the British Army for 10 years and completed two tours of Afghanistan. His military service has remained an important part of his public identity since he stepped away from royal duties. He has also continued his work with veterans through the Invictus Games, which he founded in 2014 to support wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans through sport.

“He has no desire to create drama or do anything that could distract from his family’s role in the national commemorations.” Harry’s reported plans would allow him to mark Remembrance Sunday quietly. He can still honour those who served without becoming part of the day’s royal spotlight.
