As per Page Six, Prince William reportedly establishes firm boundaries with Prince Harry in the wake of the school move. Schofield pointed to the latest controversy as proof of a pattern. Harry and Meghan Markle pulled Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet from their new UK prep school just two days into the term over security concerns. According to Schofield, that came on the heels of Harry’s failed push for taxpayer-funded police protection and King Charles’s public clarification of the couple’s non-working royal status.
Per Schofield, this is exactly the kind of rolling Sussex narrative the royal family has spent years trying to move past. She said William has his own family to protect and his responsibilities as Prince of Wales to focus on instead.
Schofield drew a sharp contrast between how William and Charles handle Harry. She explained that Charles remains Harry’s father, so an emotional pull will always be there. William, on the other hand, can afford a more practical approach. According to Schofield, “William can afford to be much more pragmatic.” She added that from his perspective, the boundaries are already set, and Harry’s choices are now Harry’s responsibility to manage.
Schofield made a similar point about William and Kate’s response to Harry’s return more broadly. She said the couple doesn’t seem to feel any urgency to react, even as the Sussexes’ presence continues generating headlines. The pattern isn’t new. Schofield previously said William wants no communication with Harry at all, reportedly preferring to keep his brother away from his family entirely.
Meanwhile, Archie and Lilibet have already been enrolled in a new school near the family’s Cotswolds home. A spokesperson told Hello! Magazine that the decision followed a security review of the previous commute. Harry and Meghan reportedly still adored their first school choice, but couldn’t make the daily security logistics work.
