Joy Behar responds to King Charles’ verdict on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal status
Joy Behar shared her views on King Charles issuing a letter regarding Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. The popular host spoke to Extra TV about the 30th season of “The View” and celebrated the milestone of becoming the longest-running female host in daytime television history.
During the segment, the interviewer brought up one of the trending topics surrounding Harry and Markle‘s return to the UK. She noted that the Sussexes are making headlines with their reverse exit and asked Behar, “If they were to sit next to you on the table or if there was a hot topic about them, what would you want to know about Harry and Meghan’s reverse exit?”
Behar admitted that she hadn’t thought much about it, asking the interviewer whether they were going back and if the King would actually want that. The interviewer explained that the monarch had issued a letter stating that they are no longer working royals and must be treated as “private citizens.”
Behar weighed in on the letter, saying, “Boy, he holds a grudge.” She added, “I mean, can’t they have a minute where they don’t want to be royals and then come back to be royals?” She also claimed that none of this would have happened if Princess Diana, Harry’s mother, were still around, adding that she would have welcomed them with open arms.
