Meghan Markle is reportedly unhappy with the security arrangements surrounding her family as she and Prince Harry settle back into life in the U.K. The Duchess of Sussex allegedly feels the restrictions could make public appearances difficult. Moreover, she believes the situation may be working against the couple’s return.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to Britain attracted plenty of attention before their arrival. However, the couple reportedly received a much quieter welcome when they landed on August 26. According to an insider who spoke to Heat, the reaction from Harry’s family has also left the Sussexes disappointed. The couple now face another major issue as they spend an extended period in Britain.
Harry and Meghan’s security arrangements changed after they stepped down as senior working royals. The couple later challenged the decision in court but lost their legal battle against the Home Office. Now that they have returned to the U.K. for a longer stay, authorities have agreed to review the security risks they face.
The Royal and VIP Executive Committee, known as RAVEC, has been asked to review Harry and Meghan’s security situation after their return. Harry has also taken more steps to seek greater protection for his family. Last month, the Duke reportedly asked Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood to personally review whether he, Meghan, and their children should receive automatic state-funded police protection. However, the current security arrangements reportedly do not meet what the couple wants.
According to the Heat source, RAVEC has agreed to provide the Sussexes with appropriate security when they attend official public engagements. Outside those appearances, the couple reportedly has access to a police liaison officer. Harry also pays for a private security team to protect his family during other activities.
“The couple’s security arrangements have caused the greatest upset,” the source said, claiming that Meghan believes the current level of protection does not give the family enough security during their time in Britain. The source also claimed, “Meghan thinks this is an attempt by the establishment to keep her out of the spotlight.”
