King Charles is reportedly hoping to heal the royal divide. However, a new report claims Kate Middleton and Prince William are not ready to follow his lead. The 77-year-old monarch is reportedly pushing for reconciliation with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Now, insiders allege the Prince and Princess of Wales believe some wounds have not healed. According to the report, the couple remains united in their view that rebuilding trust must come before rebuilding relationships.
Source claims Kate Middleton still struggles to do this despite King Charles’ hopes for reconciliation
According to insiders, Kate Middleton and Prince William are standing firm despite King Charles’ attempts to reunite the Royal Family. The claims surfaced after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent private visit to Highgrove House. There, the Sussexes reportedly spent time with the King alongside their children, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet.
The visit sparked speculation that relations between the two sides of the family may finally be improving. However, insiders claim that the progress has not changed William and Middleton’s perspective.
“William and Kate both believe there are some things that can’t be undone,” a source told Heat. “However much Charles wants everyone to move on, William and Kate don’t think it’s possible to build bridges without first building trust – and, right now, that doesn’t exist.”
According to the same insider, Charles is approaching the situation from a different perspective. The source claimed the King believes “the monarchy has to think long-term.” Continuing, they added that in Charles’ view, Harry, Markle, and their children “could still have a role in strengthening the institution if relationships could somehow be repaired.”
Even so, the report suggests Middleton continues to struggle with moving on. “But William and Kate don’t see it that way – they feel it won’t be solved by putting duty first,” the source claimed. The insider further alleged that Middleton is usually “incredibly forgiving” and prefers to “forgive and forget.”
This situation, however, is reportedly different. As per the source, she still feels hurt as she was drawn into a “very public dispute” she didn’t want to be part of. As a result, the insider claimed she cannot simply put those feelings aside for the sake of the monarchy.
Meanwhile, William is reportedly standing firmly beside his wife. According to the report, the Prince of Wales shares her belief that trust has yet to be rebuilt. Until that changes, insiders claim they are unlikely to support the King’s vision of bringing both sides of the family together.
