The hosts of the show reportedly discussed the 84-year-old senator’s health in great detail on Wednesday, July 8. Goldberg fired shots at McConnell’s team for not making it “crystal clear” whether he is fit to continue working or not.

The View’s Whoopi Goldberg reportedly suggested that Mitch McConnell should simply FaceTime amid rumors of his deteriorating health (via The Daily Beast). She informed viewers: “Rumors are swirling over the health of Senator Mitch McConnell, who has not been seen publicly or heard from since he was rushed to the hospital on June 14th.”
Goldberg continued: “But Republican officials and conservative media figures like Scott Jennings insist all is well with him. Don’t they need to make things crystal clear? They put Biden under the microscope, so is this not another thing we should do? Why don’t they just FaceTime him? And if you don’t know how to FaceTime him, get somebody young to show you what to do!”
Moreover, as per the veteran The View host, getting the Senator on a video call “would shut everybody up.” Goldberg also addressed the inevitable: AI allegations. She remarked: “Then we would all say, ‘How do we know it’s not AI?’” However, Goldberg insisted: “A lot of people on both sides of the aisle are saying, ‘What the hell, we need more transparency with this.’”
For those unversed, The Daily Beast reported that McConnell was found “unconscious” at his home last month. EMS reportedly performed CPR on him before he was hospitalized. As per independent journalist Desirée Townsend, the senator may have suffered a heart attack.
Robert Steurer, a spokesperson for McConnell, revealed to the outlet: “Senator McConnell is still working closely with staff on Senate business and Kentucky matters as he continues his recovery. However, he will not be voting this week.”
