Disney+ renews Polish series Breslau, orders two new shows
Deadline reported that Disney+ has expanded its lineup of original productions in Poland, renewing Breslau for a second season and commissioning two new local series. The announcement adds to the streamer’s growing slate of Polish originals.
The renewal of Breslau leads the latest announcements. The first season followed commissioner Franz Podolsky as he investigated a horrifying murder in the lead-up to the Olympic Games. The story will continue in Season 2 with Podolsky at the center of another criminal investigation.
After being released from prison, he becomes involved in the murder of a woman. As the investigation unfolds, the evidence begins to point to an earlier case that remained unresolved, forcing him to confront a chapter of his past. Tomasz Schuchardt returns alongside Adam Bobik, Agata Kulesza, Ireneusz Czop and Przemysław Bluszcz.
Disney+ has also commissioned Everything Under Control (working title), a comedy-drama built around a young woman trying to improve herself. Her carefully planned path takes an unforeseen turn when an unexpected incident changes the course of her personal journey.
Also joining the slate is The Game, a thriller produced by Aurum Film. The series follows a group of strangers whose trip into a forest quickly spirals into a life-threatening situation when they come face-to-face with an unforeseen danger, leaving survival their only priority.
Commenting on the announcement, Angela Jain, Head of Content for Disney+ EMEA, said, “We strongly believe in the Polish market, and the opportunity for local content to play a significant role. These newly commissioned titles will perfectly complement our global offering, while meeting local audience demand.”
