Joy Behar opened up about Vice President JD Vance’s desire to be friends with her after his appearance on The View. Behar confessed that she did not know why Vance wanted to be her friend. This comes a week after Vance’s appearance on The View.
Joy Behar reacts to JD Vance calling them ‘best friends’
Joy Behar, who co-hosts the ABC talk show The View, reacted to JD Vance’s claims about their friendship. She seemed rather amused by the way the Vice President spoke about her.
“He was in a press conference about Iran and said that the two of you were best friends,” Brian Teta said to Behar about Vance on the Behind the Table podcast. “No, he did not,” reacted Behar. “He did too,” Teta responded.
“What he said was he was at the White House, and he said [The View cast] is harder to negotiate with than the Iranians,” Behar said about this. However, the host seemed sufficiently amused by the prospect.
“It’s funny that he wants to be friends with me,” she confessed, “Why?” She further declared, “I’m not a Republican. I never was. I never will be…I’m a Democrat. I don’t approve of his positions. I definitely don’t approve of Donald Trump and his positions.”
Teta said that people were giving her a hard time because she was “not openly hostile to him.” She said about this, “I’m not openly hostile to anybody who’s a guest on the show.” She also added about Vance, “Truthfully… I don’t think that he’s a bad guy.”
Following this podcast discussion, Behar and Vance’s dynamic was brought up again on Wednesday’s episode of The View. “He did compare you to dealing deals with Iran,” Sara Haines told Behar, who said she was tougher to deal with than Iran. “I’ll call the Ayatollah for you, J.D,” she added.
