Renowned media personality Megyn Kelly has fired shots at Jimmy Kimmel after the late-night talk show host announced the slate of artists who will be filling in for him during his upcoming vacation. She specifically focused on comedian Rosie O’Donnell, who will be taking over Kimmel for two weeks, and blasted her over her comments against Donald Trump and the MAGA.
Megyn Kelly slams Jimmy Kimmel for Rosie O’Donnell choice
On the June 22 episode of The Megyn Kelly Show, the host ripped into the veteran comedian for his choice of one of his temporary replacements on his talk show.
Megyn Kelly began the episode of the SiriusXM show by saying, “Jimmy Kimmel’s going on vacay for two months. Do you have a two-month vacay? Probably not. Do you have 30 acres in Martha’s Vineyard? Probably not…And guess who he has sub-hosting for him? It’s a litany of left-wing comedians, most of whom you don’t know very well because he’s worried about his job security. So, he’s got to find people who are lesser than he is. But none more so than the next person I’m going to show you, who actually gave an interview recently to Jim Acosta.”
Kelly then aired a snippet of Rosie O’Donnell, claiming that she had “read online” that Kamala Harris had won the 2024 presidential election over Donald Trump. “Oh, she read it online, then obviously it’s true,” the popular political commentator quipped. “I was told by some reliable sources that election denialism is wrong and basically makes you an insurrectionist or a supporter.”
As such, Kelly expressed concern about whether the 64-year-old comedian-actress would share similar views on the election on Jimmy Kimmel Live! “We have real questions about whether Rosie will be offering bits like this speculative questioning she gave to us a year or so ago. Wonder if she’s going to be bringing this up to Jimmy’s audience, which is ever dwindling.”
Before concluding the episode, Megyn Kelly played a clip of Rosie O’Donnell where the latter jokingly claimed that the MAGA gave her herpes. “Note to the guests, don’t get too close. Do not do the hello kiss when you arrive on stage,” Kelly replied.
Notably, Jimmy Kimmel will resume hosting duties on his talk show two months later, on September 2, 2026.
