Kai Trump criticized for allegedly editing boos out of MSG video with Donald Trump
Donald Trump’s granddaughter, Kai, recently found herself at the receiving end of criticism after she was accused of editing the boos in the MSG video. Kai attended Game 3 of the Knicks vs Spurs with her grandfather, Trump, at MSG.
While Trump became the first sitting US president to attend the NBA Finals, the appearance didn’t seem to be taken well by the crowd. During the national anthem, when the camera panned to Trump and Kai, the crowd started booing the President. Kai posted a video of that moment on her Instagram and expressed her gratitude to 15 seconds of Fame, aka 15SOF, for capturing the moment. She wrote in the caption, “Thank you to 15SOF for capturing this special moment with my Grandpa.” However, many users in the comments section alleged that the video has been edited, with the boos replaced by cheers as Trump appears on the jumbotron.
A user wrote, “Following in her family’s lying ways. They must be so proud. THE BOOOOOS ROCKED THE FOUNDATION OF THE GARDEN.” Another user noted, “nice sound edits kaikai.” A third user commented, “how embarrassing for you having to replace the audio with actual cheers When he was booed.”
While Kai didn’t comment on it, the company, 15SOF, reportedly told Page Six that she received the video as it is from them. A spokesperson said, “The video shared by Kai Trump on Instagram was exactly the clip delivered by 15SOF to her account on our app, and at no time did she request that any audio be altered, enhanced, replaced, or otherwise manipulated.”
