HBO Max has released the trailer for its upcoming sketch comedy show, reuniting Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld. Titled Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness, it’s going to be a limited TV series.
The official logline for Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness reads, “Those who don’t know history… are doomed to watch Larry David repeat it.”

In the full trailer for Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness, Larry David is seen alongside other acclaimed actors such as Susie Essman, Jon Hamm, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Isla Fisher, and Jane Krakowski. The series focuses on the many events of American history in the funniest way possible.
The HBO Max limited series will see David and Jerry Seinfeld coming together after working on the NBC sitcom Seinfeld. They co-wrote the pilot and also served as the writers and executive producers for the first seven seasons of that project. It was a hit show and earned mostly positive reactions during its run. On Rotten Tomatoes, it currently holds a solid Tomatometer score of 89% and a Popcornmeter score of 92%.
Jeff Schaffer serves as the director, writer, co-creator, and executive producer of the upcoming show alongside David. The two have also worked together previously on projects like Curb Your Enthusiasm and the HBO television film Clear History. Interestingly, this series will mark David’s return to TV following the 12-year run of Curb Your Enthusiasm. It was a very successful series that earned 55 Primetime Emmy nominations and won two.
Last month, the new series revealed a teaser trailer. It showed former President Barack Obama rejecting David’s request to be his emergency contact.
Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness, a seven-episode limited TV series, will premiere on June 26, 2026, on HBO and HBO Max.
