Chris Hemsworth has revealed that he once tried switching his son’s passport at airport security. He spoke about his attempt to outsmart the system and then quickly realizing why it exists. The experience taught the Thor star the value of checking passports carefully before heading to the airport.
Chris Hemsworth reveals he once forgot his son’s passport while traveling
Chris Hemsworth has opened up about a time he arrived at the airport without his son’s passport in hand. In a joint interview with Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, Hemsworth and his wife, Elsa Pataky, recalled a moment when he mistakenly grabbed the wrong passport and tried to board a flight with one of their twin sons using their daughter India’s document.
“I actually went to the airport once and I had my daughter’s passport instead of my son’s passport… They kind of look the same,” Chris Hemsworth started explaining. At this point, Pataky simply interjected, “They don’t.”
That didn’t stop the Avengers: Doomsday actor from giving it a try. “I said, ‘Oh, yeah, this is her.’ And they were like, ‘That’s a boy. No,’” he added. “So, yeah, that didn’t work.” Pataky noted that because of it, Hemsworth and their son couldn’t get on the plane.
Married since 2010, the couple has three children: a 13-year-old daughter, India, and 11-year-old twin sons, Sasha and Tristan. Their eldest daughter has since followed her parents into acting, appearing alongside her dad in 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder. India is slated to team up with her dad again in Avengers: Doomsday, though Hemsworth said earlier this year that convincing her to return to the superhero franchise wasn’t easy.
“In the end, I had to bribe her to come onto set,” Hemsworth revealed during a February episode of The View. “She’s like, ‘I’m not coming! I’m not even getting paid! What am I even doing here?’ And I go, ‘You are getting paid.’ She goes, ‘Really? You didn’t tell me that.’” The Extraction star finally persuaded his daughter to continue filming after pointing out that she could buy a new bike with the earnings.
