With speculations regarding Tom Hardy’s supposed firing from Season 3 of Paramount’s hit series MobLand running wild, one leading cast member has come out to show her support for The Dark Knight star. Academy Award winner Helen Mirren recently took to social media to share a simple yet effective message for Hardy amid the controversy surrounding the fan-favorite English actor.
Helen Mirren backs Tom Hardy amid his MobLand firing reports
On May 28, the veteran actress uploaded a post on social media, advocating for her co-star in the middle of his messy dispute with MobLand creators.
The Instagram post features a portrait of Tom Hardy, along with the caption, “Love you now and always,” followed by her sign-off. However, Helen Mirren did not provide any other context to the post and even disabled the comment section.
Mirren’s support for Hardy comes in the wake of the reports claiming Paramount had fired the actor from MobLand Season 3. The rumors mentioned a rift between him, MobLand writer Jez Butterworth, and executive producer David C. Glasser.
However, according to an anonymous source, the two parties have not parted ways as of yet. “The door is not closed for Season 3, and things are being worked through creatively,” they claimed. The insider also mentioned that executive producer Guy Ritchie has been one of the main voices behind keeping Hardy on the project. “Guy likes working with Tom,” they remarked.
The report further explained the fallout between Tom Hardy and the MobLand creatives, crediting some of the blame to the actor’s alleged on-set tardiness, as well as his persistence on reworking parts of the script. It also mentioned Hardy’s disagreements with Butterworth, claiming that the scribe was constantly causing delays in delivering scripts.
Nevertheless, Paramount has yet to share any official briefing regarding Tom Hardy’s much-discussed firing. Moreover, updates regarding MobLand Season 3 remain scarce at the time of writing.
