MobLand’s Tom Hardy Explains Harry’s Big Change in Season 2

Harry Da Souza built his reputation on staying ahead of trouble, but MobLand Season 2 is ready to wreck that advantage. Tom Hardy says the Harrigan fixer will spend much more time reacting to danger as the crime drama pushes him into situations where preparation no longer gives him the upper hand.

Tom Hardy explains how Harry is changed in MobLand Season 2

Tom Hardy discussed the shift in an exclusive interview with ScreenRant’s Grant Hermanns. He described Harry as someone who “is often five steps ahead” and possesses an unusual “ability to prepare.” Season 1 gave him enough breathing room to solve problems before they exploded. The new chapter takes that luxury away.

The change comes as Jez Butterworth’s story throws the Harrigan organization into a far more dangerous situation. Hardy explained that the plan was to pull everyone apart and then bring them back together against a “fearless adversary” whose presence had already loomed over the first season. That setup leaves Harry dealing with a much bigger mess while his own operation becomes scattered.

Hardy also teased a season that has “never been as kinetic.” Harry still keeps his cool, but this time he has less time to think before making his next move. The actor described him as being “on the back foot,” forced to respond under pressure while his team operates across different parts of the world. A “false sense of security” also hangs over both the Harrigan and Da Souza families.

Harry’s troubles will not stay confined to the criminal underworld. Season 2 opens with the fallout from Jan, played by Joanne Froggatt, stabbing her husband, while Gina, portrayed by Teddie Allen, begins growing into a young woman who may follow the same road as her father. Hardy also teased trouble within the Da Souza household, leaving Harry to juggle another crisis at home.

The Harrigans, meanwhile, will have more than one threat breathing down their necks this time. Johnny Flynn enters the mix as a new villain alongside Janet McTeer’s Kat and Toby Jones’ Colin, while Paddy Considine’s Kevin works toward a deadly goal of killing his father.
