Meghan Markle ‘Taking Control’ 8 Years After Prince Harry Marriage — Expert

Meghan Markle recently shared her wedding photos on Instagram to mark her eighth wedding anniversary with Prince Harry. And looking at the 24 photos, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond believes that the Duchess of Sussex seems to be now “taking control of her own publicity.”

Meghan Markle posting royal wedding photos is her ‘taking control of her own publicity,’ per expert

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary on May 19. To mark the occasion, the Duchess of Sussex shared 24 images from their 2018 ceremony held at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. By sharing the behind-the-scenes moments from their big day, Jennie Bond thinks that Meghan is now taking things under control.

“I suppose this is another example of Meghan taking control of her own publicity, and there’s nothing wrong with that,” Bond told the Mirror. She added that no guests were allowed to take photos of their wedding or reception. However, things seem to have changed in eight years. Meghan now frequently shares about her private life on social media. Since people are interested in the Duchess’s private life, Bond thinks that it “feeds into her business plans and her brand.”

While the former actress has posted many pictures from her wedding day, none of them featured the Royal Family. The expert believes that this “is out of respect for their privacy.” “I don’t think we should draw any conclusions about the state of their relationship from the fact that they are not included in the pictures,” Bond noted.

Harry and Meghan exchanged vows in a fairytale royal wedding at Windsor Castle chapel in 2018. Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, the future King Charles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton attended the wedding. Other members of the royal family were also present. On that day, the late Queen bestowed the newlyweds with the royal titles of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The two retain the titles even after stepping back from their royal duties in 2020.
