The Paper Season 2 Release Date Window Set for Return of The Office Spin-off TV Show

After its well-received debut last fall, NBC and Peacock‘s mockumentary series The Paper is set to return with Season 2 in 2026. A spin-off of one of the most popular sitcoms of all time, The Office, The Paper has now received an official release window for Season 2.

When is the release date window for The Paper Season 2?

The Paper features the same documentary crew from The Office, this time focusing on a Midwestern newspaper and its struggles. Greg Daniels and Michael Koman are the show’s creators, writers, and executive producers. Upon its debut, the first season received strong reviews from critics. It eventually earned a higher Rotten Tomatoes score than The Office. While the latter sits at 81% on the review aggregation website, its spin-off currently holds 85% score on Tomatometer.

Season 2 of The Paper is expected to premiere in September 2026, according to Deadline. The first season also premiered during the same month last year.

“The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch in the Emmy Award-winning series The Office find a new subject when they discover a historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it,” reads the show’s synopsis.

The Paper’s main cast includes Domhnall Gleeson as Ned Sampson, Chelsea Frei as Mare Pritti, Sabrina Impacciatore as Esmeralda Grand, and Melvin Gregg as Detrick Moore. Other key members are Gbemisola Ikumelo as Adelola Olofin, Alex Edelman as Adam Cooper, Ramona Young as Nicole Lee, Tim Key as Ken Davies, and Oscar Nunez as Oscar Martinez.

Guest stars for the series include Eric Rahill as Travis Bienlien, Tracy Letts as John Stack, Molly Ephraim as Summer, Mo Welch as Kimberly, Allan Havey as Marv Putnam, Nate Jackson as Nate Wells, and Nancy Lenehan as Ann.
