The trailer offers a sneak peek at the wacky shenanigans the Toledo Truth Teller employees will get into this season. It features a montage of several comedic scenes that the series has in store.
Season 2 will follow Ned’s search for a new journalistic crusade after winning the Ohio Journalism Awards. His latest investigation targets a local private club, which puts the newspaper at risk. Meanwhile, Ned and Mare navigate their growing attraction to each other, while Esmeralda struggles to find her place on the team.
One scene from the trailer shows Ned and Mare sneaking out to kiss. “I have started a relationship with someone who works beneath me,” Ned reflects. Another sequence captures a team meeting where Marv, the CEO of Enervate, tells them, “I want you to write the best article you’ve ever written.” The season will see the crew’s growth as reporters as they face new challenges.
The Paper stars Domhnall Gleeson as Ned, Sabrina Impacciatore as Esmeralda, Chelsea Frei as Mare, Melvin Gregg as Detrick, Gbemisola Ikumelo as Adelola, and more. Oscar Nuñez reprises his role as Oscar Martinez from The Office.
