The Paper Season 2: The Office Spin-off Show’s Return Gets Release Date, First Look Photos

Peacock has finally dropped the release date and first official photos from The Paper Season 2. The photos offer a first look at The Office spin-off’s returning cast, including About Time star Domhnall Gleeson as editor-in-chief Ned Sampson.

When is the release date for The Paper Season 2?

All episodes of The Paper Season 2 are now scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, September 9, exclusively on Peacock. The new installment also stars Sabrina Impacciatore as Esmeralda Grand, Chelsea Frei as Mare Pritti, Melvin Gregg as Detrick Moore, Gbemisola Ikumelo as Adelola Olofin, Tim Key as Ken Davies, Ramona Young as Nicole Lee, Eric Rahill as Travis Bienlien, Duane Shepard Sr. as Barry, Alex Edelman as Adam Cooper, and Oscar Nuñez as Oscar Martinez. The latter was part of the original Steve Carell sitcom’s main cast.

“The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch in the Emmy Award-winning series finds a new subject when they discover a historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it,” reads the show’s new logline. “In Season 2, after sweeping the Ohio Journalism Awards, Ned searches for a journalistic crusade, coming for a local private club and jeopardizing the paper, while he and Mare try to figure out their attraction, Esmeralda struggles to find her place, and the staff gradually mature as reporters.”

The Paper is co-created and executive-produced by Greg Daniels and Michael Koman. The Office creators Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant are also serving as executive producers, alongside Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, and Banijay Americas (formerly Reveille). It is a production by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
