Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine may not stay down for long. Recent rumors suggest the adamantium-laced mutant could slash his way through four upcoming Marvel projects. From another round with Deadpool to a potential solo outing, industry scoopers place Wolverine at the centre of Marvel’s future plans, though none of these details have received official confirmation.

Jackman last appeared as Wolverine in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine, directed by Shawn Levy, which grossed over $1.3 billion worldwide and marked his return to the role after 2017’s Logan.

Reynolds Pitches a Wolverine, Cable, and Storm Trio for Deadpool 4

Ryan Reynolds reportedly wants Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine to return alongside Cable and Storm in the next Deadpool movie. Industry scooper Daniel RPK shared the rumour, though Marvel Studios has not confirmed a fourth film. Reynolds told TODAY that he does not plan to center Deadpool again. “I think he’s a supporting character. He’s a guy that is great in a group,” the actor stated.

He also told The Hollywood Reporter he still sees room for the duo. “There is still an arc for Deadpool which is fulfilling and powerful,” Reynolds added. However, he called a fourth solo outing for the character “a little iterative and redundant.”

Wolverine Joins Deadpool and Spider-Man in Avengers: Doomsday

Scooper MyTimeToShineHello claimed on X that Jackman’s Wolverine will share most of his screen time with Reynolds’ Deadpool and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man. Insider Daniel Richtman also pointed to a potential Wolverine and Spider-Man face-off in the film.

Trade reports have already confirmed Reynolds’ return as Deadpool for the crossover event. The movie is expected to feature the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men sharing the screen for the first time.

Jackman and Maguire Reportedly Lead Avengers: Secret Wars

MyTimeToShineHello wrote on X that the end of Doomsday sets up Jackman and Maguire as the leads of Secret Wars. The Russo Brothers will direct the film, which hits theatres on December 17, 2027. Anthony and Joe Russo will also co-produce it with Marvel Studios via their production company, AGBO.

Dafne Keen’s Laura has also emerged as a potential candidate to carry the Wolverine mantle forward in the MCU.
