Insiders have a major update for Deadpool fans and the character’s involvement in Avengers: Secret Wars. The sixth installment in the Avengers film series, Secret Wars, is widely rumored and heavily expected to include the Merc with a Mouth among its core cast. The latest rumors appear to be hinting positively at those expectations.
According to @MyTimeToShineH on X, Deadpool will reportedly have “a huge role” in Secret Wars. This latest rumor comes after numerous older reports supporting these claims. One of these was insider Daniel Richtman claiming that Wade Wilson and Logan (aka Wolverine) will reportedly make a cameo appearance in Avengers: Doomsday before playing a “big role” in Avengers: Secret Wars.
Yet, as plausible as all these reports might sound, when tracking the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s castings, Marvel Studios has still yet to officially confirm these role details. So as excited as fans might get from these rumors, they should still take them with a pinch of salt.
What we know about Marvel’s Avengers: Secret Wars
Avengers: Secret Wars is slated as the final chapter of Phase Six and the Multiverse Saga in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo have been tapped to helm this installment as well.
The plot for the film is expected to draw heavily from the 2015 Jonathan Hickman Secret Wars comic event, where colliding multiversal realities (Incursions) destroy universes and leave behind Battleworld — a patchwork realm stitched together from fractured alternate dimensions.
Per IMDb, the cast of Secret Wars includes Robert Downey Jr. as Victor Von Doom/Doctor Doom, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch.
Noah Jupe has also been cast in an unknown role. Rumored actors and characters include Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Benedict Wong as Wong, Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez, Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel, and Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams.
Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled to hit screens on December 17, 2027.
