A report about Amazon Prime Video’s new Spider-Man series, Spider-Noir, has surfaced ahead of its release, mentioning the runtime of each episode. Releasing later next month, the series will offer a unique take on the popular superhero’s mythos. It promises a gripping narrative following an older, alternate version of the iconic webslinger.
Nicolas Cage’s Spider-Noir series’ episode runtime average revealed by new rumor
The episodes of Spider-Noir, starring Nicolas Cage as the titular protagonist, are rumored to have a runtime of roughly 40 minutes.
This comes from a report shared by a notable scooper, Cryptic HD QUALITY, on X (formerly Twitter). However, Cage shared in an interview with The New Yorker two years ago that the episodes would be “forty-five minutes.” The Ghost Rider actor added, “I mean, it’s eight episodes. So it’s the equivalent of four movies in five months.”
Recently, Gold Derby reported that Spider-Noir has been submitted for consideration in the Comedy category for the Emmys’ first cycle. The outlet noted that the move places the superhero noir show in competition with the likes of Shrinking, Hacks, and Only Murders in the Building.
Co-showrunner Oren Uziel teased an interesting performance from Cage. He stated that the actor “delivers a singular, deeply original take on Ben Reilly,” adding that he is “incredibly excited for audiences to see his performance.” He also highlighted the series’s “exceptional” supporting cast, calling his experience working with all of them “a truly unforgettable collaboration.” Additionally, Uziel expressed hope that “audiences feel that spirit.”
Spider-Noir first swings to MGM+ with its first episode in the United States on May 25, 2026. It will then be released globally in its entirety on Amazon Prime Video on May 27. The show, reportedly rated TV-14, will be available to stream in both black-and-white and color.
Set against the backdrop of 1930s New York City, the story follows Ben Reilly (Cage), an aging private investigator plagued by bad luck. He struggles to come to terms with his past as the sole superhero of the city, The Spider — a role he retired following a personal tragedy. However, Reilly resumes his old career when a new, unique case comes his way.
In addition to Cage, Spider-Noir stars Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, and Brendan Gleeson.
