No, Silo’s Season 3 Release Date Is Not Delayed

Silo fans were recently caught off guard after the Apple TV series‘ official social media account shared a post claiming the release date of Season 3 had been delayed. However, it was quickly revealed that the announcement was simply an April Fool’s Day prank, and many shared their reactions online. The show’s third season is launching later this year, though an official release date is not set as of writing.

Fans just got pranked over Silo Season 3 release date

Silo’s X (formerly Twitter) account recently posted that the third season had been delayed to late 2027-2028. However, they quickly revealed it was a joke, wishing everyone a Happy April Fool’s in a follow-up post. They further stressed that it was just a joke with another post apologizing to shocked fans for worrying them.

Fans responded to the announcement in various ways. One user called the joke “rude,” adding, “You actually got me there for a minute, then I remembered that I saw the director say recently it’s coming out in July.” Meanwhile, another fan posted that they got upset until realizing it was an April Fool’s prank. “Got me good,” they remarked.

Another claimed the announcement “terrified” them at first, adding, “I hate april fools.” One user similarly noted, “You got me so badly, I was about to cry.”

Series star Rebecca Ferguson, who also serves as an executive producer on the show, revealed last month that Season 3 is dropping during the summer. While she didn’t disclose an exact date, she teased how it will compare to the previous installments. Speaking to TODAY, she explained that the dystopian drama “oddly” became “better” each time. The Mercy actress added, “I find it is unusual for shows to grow and sort of advance in the stories. I find they usually just kind of fall out, but this one gets better and better.”

Silo Season 3 will serve as the penultimate installment, while the fourth, which began filming a few months later and wrapped last month, will be the last.

Graham Yost created the series, based on Hugh Howey’s trilogy of novels, and also serves as showrunner. Besides Ferguson, the show stars Common, Chinaza Uche, Harriet Walter, Avi Nash, Remmie Miller, Shane McRae, Steve Zahn, and Tim Robbins.
