Whoopi Goldberg, who has co-hosted The View since 2007, has once again fired shots at Donald Trump, doing so in the talk show’s latest episode. The EGOT winner recently blasted the Republican for adding yet another newly invented award to his resume earlier this week, going as far as to label him the “snowflakiest president” in the country’s history.
Whoopi Goldberg slams Donald Trump after he wins an award
On the March 26 episode of The View, Goldberg questioned the need for Trump to present himself with awards, given that it is his duty to lead the nation as its president.
Notably, the businessman-turned-politician became the inaugural winner of the ‘America First Award’ on Wednesday, with House Speaker Mike Johnson handing over the freshly-introduced title, along with a trophy, to Trump at the National Republican Congressional Committee.
“I don’t want to be a conspiracy theorist, but I find it interesting that this award was created at the same time that news broke that Bill Maher is receiving this year’s Mark Twain prize,” Whoopi Goldberg remarked before slamming Donald Trump. “I’ve never seen someone who’s so needy. This is the most snowflakiest president I’ve ever seen. I mean, you need an award? You’re the head of the country— why do you need an award? What the hell?”
Other panelists on The View also seemed to agree with Goldberg’s sentiments. While Sara Haines and guest host Abby Huntsman shared similar points of view on the matter, Joy Behar suggested another award that Trump should win next. “I have an award for Trump: the Pinocchio award,” the seasoned comedian quipped.
Since December 2025, Donald Trump has become the inaugural recipient of two accolades, in addition to the ‘America First Award.’ Last year, FIFA President Gianni Infantino awarded the two-time president with the newly launched FIFA Peace Prize. In February 2026, Trump received the ‘Undisputed Champion of Beautiful Clean Coal’ trophy at a one-of-a-kind White House event.
