Fans react to Ed Skrein getting cast as Baldur in God of War TV series

God of War fans have the most wholesome reaction to Ed Skrein’s casting as Baldur in the Prime Video adaptation. Baldur is Odin’s son, the latter to be portrayed by Mandy Patinkin. Although he’s the youngest son of Odin, he is not to be taken lightly, as he is his father’s “most dangerous weapon.” He is charming, unpredictable, and boasts a razor-sharp tongue (via Deadline).

Moreover, Baldur was cursed as a child. Because of the curse, he cannot feel any pleasure or physical sensation. This fuels immense anger and ravenous bloodlust in him. However, he longs for a worthy opponent, someone who can match his physical prowess and is worthy of his time and attention. He hopes that the opponent will be the one to make him feel something.

Fans are stoked to witness Skrein take on this challenging character and bring Baldur to life on screen. One fan commented, “ed skrein as baldur is actually a crazy good pick. the man has that unhinged energy you need for someone who can’t feel anything and is furious about it. if they nail the stranger fight in episode one this show is going to be special.”

A second fan wrote, “Ed Skrein is a great actor, and I can’t wait to see him as Baldur.” ” A third fan penned, “Ed Skrein as Baldur is actually a masterclass in casting. The man knows how to play a villain you love to hate. We finally have a Norse god who looks like he actually feels no pain.”
