Rumored James Bond Actor’s Spy TV Show Adds Star Wars Actor & 4 More to Cast

Apple TV has announced five new cast members for its gritty British spy thriller series. The cast includes a Star Wars actor and a familiar face returning from previous seasons.

It was recently announced that rumored James Bond actor Jack Lowden will lead Slow Horses Season 7, alongside Star Wars actor Varada Sethu, Ethan Moorhouse, Tuppence Middleton, Merab Ninidze, and Joshua McGuire. The season will also see the return of Actor Award nominee James Callis as Claude Whelan (via Variety).

Beyond playing the Rebel fighter Cinta Kaz in the Disney+ live-action Star Wars series Andor, Sethu is also known for The Other Bennet Sister, 100 Nights of Hero, Doctor Who, Jurassic World: Dominion, Strike Back, and Bad News.

Moorhouse’s acting credits include MobLand, Masters of the Air, Domina, Citadel, The Power, Say Nothing, Sebastian, and Doctors. Meanwhile, Middleton is best known for playing Frances Forsyte in The Forsytes. Her other acting credits include Death by Lightning, Blood Cruise, Sukkwan Island, Lord of Misrule, and Downton Abbey: A New Era.

Ninidze is known for Dr. Amin Ballouz in Dr. Ballouz and Vadim Kalyagin in McMafia. He is also credited for Crooks, Rosamunde Pilcher, The Nordic Murders, Without Remorse, Conclave, Delo, and Without Remorse. Meanwhile, McGuire is best known for The Gray House, Ponies, The Famous Five, The Gold, Cheaters, Blitz, and The Gentlemen.

How Season 7 of Slow Horses raises the stakes for Jackson Lamb

Slow Horses is a darkly humorous espionage drama that follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents in a dumping-ground department of MI5 known un-affectionately as Slough House.

Season 7 adapts Mick Herron’s Bad Actors from the Slough House book series. It follows Jackson Lamb and his Slow Horses as they hunt a mole at the heart of the British Government before it brings down the state. It will also bring back Sir Gary Oldman as Lamb.

The first five seasons of Slow Horses are now streaming on Apple TV, with Season 6’s finale premiering this week. Season 8 was also recently announced.
