Next James Bond Role Already Offered, Filming Window Reported

Reports surrounding the future of the James Bond franchise continue to generate speculation as development seems to have moved forward on the next installment. A new supposed update claims Amazon may have offered the lead role in Bond 26 to a rising star, though producers have not issued official confirmation.

Jacob Elordi rumored to be offered next James Bond role

Online speculation has resurfaced claiming that Jacob Elordi has received an offer to play James Bond in Denis Villeneuve’s Bond 26.

Celebrity gossip account Deuxmoi posted, “Jacob Elordi as Bond has been a long standing rumor,” adding, “Amazon have offered Elordi the bond role. Filming starts in October this year.” Producers have not made any official casting announcement about the next actor to portray 007.

As development continues on the next installment, industry speculation has intensified over who will succeed Daniel Craig. Reports name Jacob Elordi as a “top” pick for director Denis Villeneuve. Showbiz411 reports that Elordi has met with producers and Villeneuve about the project, though the studio has not confirmed an official offer.

Other actors linked to the role include Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Tom Holland, Harris Dickinson, Scott Rose-Marsh, and Callum Turner. Some reports suggested Turner may have already secured the part. Oddsmakers have listed both Turner and Jacob Elordi among the favorites. Online reactions have been mixed. Comments included, “Callum Turner is the only choice for the next bond fr,” and “He’s too tall to play a secret against.”

If cast, Elordi would become the second Australian actor to portray 007 after George Lazenby in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. He would also become the youngest actor to take on the role at 28. At 6ft 5in (1.96m), he would be the tallest Bond to date. Reports have highlighted debate about whether his height could affect casting decisions. They also state that the studio is considering a younger actor for the rebooted era following No Time to Die.

Denis Villeneuve will direct Bond 26, and Steven Knight will write the screenplay. Amazon MGM Studios reportedly plans to begin production by October 2026 or early 2027. The studio is targeting a 2028 release under its creative control.
