Travis Kelce’s Ex Faces Backlash for Shading Him & Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole, has reportedly come under fire for taking a jab at Taylor Swift in her new Super Bowl advertisement. The influencer and podcast host recently starred in an ad campaign for Sleeper, where she seemingly referenced the Grammy-winning singer.

Kayla Nicole faces backlash for Super Bowl ad

Kayla Nicole recently appeared in the Super Bowl commercial for Sleeper, alongside Ben Simmons, Tiffany Haddish, Offset, and more. The ad opens with Haddish asking, “Have you or someone you know been injured emotionally in a high-profile relationship?” with Simmons adding, “Are your exes snubbing you in commercials?”

Nicole, who was labelled in the video as the “Ex of a certain NFL Player,” took the screen some moments later, joking, “Don’t get me started on these two. They have no idea what they’re doing at all.” She added, “Simmons and Haddish promised me that they could put an end to this whole ‘ex-girlfriend’ fiasco quickly.”

Simmons interjected, saying, “That doesn’t sound like what I said,” to which Nicole replied, “Rapidly.” Finally, when Nicole said, “Okay, pronto,” Simmons declared, “I said swiftly! Why is that so hard to remember?”

Netizens were quick to catch the wordplay on “swiftly,” noting it to be a clear reference to Taylor Swift. This did not sit well with many fans who have taken to social media to slam Nicole, stating that she is “obsessed” with the couple. One fan commented, “I’m not a swifty, but this girl needs to move on,” while another said, “This is beyond embarrassing for everyone involved.” A third fan wrote, “She needs to move on.”

However, despite the backlash, several other fans have come to Nicole’s defense. Some users noted that it was Simmons, not Nicole, who said the word “swiftly.”

Nicole had previously faced criticism for seemingly shading Swift on Halloween last year. Before that, fans had speculated that Swift may have subtly dissed Nicole in her recent hit, “Opalite.” As of now, neither Nicole nor Swift has made any statement addressing the matter.
