Sophie Nélisse wants Shane and Ilya ‘to get married’ in Heated Rivalry Season 2
Sophie Nélisse has said she hopes the relationship between Shane Hollander and Ilya moves toward marriage when Heated Rivalry returns for its second season. Speaking in an exclusive interview with MovieWeb, the actor expressed strong support for the lead couple, which is portrayed by Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie.
Nélisse, who appears as Rose Landry, said she follows the romance with the same enthusiasm as viewers. “I’m invested in the story, as much as, like the fans are, to be honest, like I’m in love with these two characters,” she said. The actress added, “I want them to get married. I want them to have like, kids like, whatever they like, whatever they want to do.”
Nélisse explained that she remains eager to return to filming and to see how the characters’ journey continues. “I’m their biggest cheerleader and supporter. So, yes, I am so excited to see what unfolds between these characters, because I haven’t read the books,” she said.
During the same interview, the actress also reflected on her experience working on the show. “It was the best set I’ve ever been on in my life,” she said. Nélisse praised Tierney’s directing style and the bond among the cast for creating a positive atmosphere on set. “I’ve never felt so at home,” the actress added.
The comments come as Heated Rivalry prepares for its next chapter following a strong debut on Canadian streaming platform Crave. Created by Jacob Tierney, the series climbed streaming rankings soon after release and developed a large following.
