Jason Kelce Is Moving to a New Sport With ESPN Gig

Jason Kelce’s post-football career keeps surprising fans. Just when it seemed his media presence couldn’t get any bigger, the former Eagles center is stepping onto unfamiliar ice, literally. ESPN recently revealed that Kelce will take on a special correspondent role for its NHL Stadium Series coverage, blending his sports experience with his growing presence in broadcasting.

Jason Kelce set to add NHL to his resume with new gig

Jason Kelce is taking his game-day energy from the football field to the ice with a new role ESPN is calling the “Best Seat in the House.” He’ll be chatting with guests right at ice level during Stadium Series broadcasts, surrounded by aerial shots, Skycams, on-ice skatecams, and even chest-mounted Mindfly cameras on referees. ESPN plans to rotate special guests for Kelce to interact with throughout Sunday’s action at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, keeping things lively and unpredictable.

Kelce isn’t new to hockey, even if his fame comes from the gridiron. Back in high school at Cleveland Heights, he racked up 21 goals and 15 assists in his senior year. Once he landed in Philly, he became a part of Flyers fandom, going to games whenever he could and embracing the city’s hockey fever alongside his football career. His knowledge of the sport, paired with his larger-than-life personality, makes him a natural fit for this new on-air adventure.

Kelce is making his NHL on-air debut on February 1, the Sunday before the Super Bowl, covering the Bruins vs. Lightning game. The gig carries extra meaning since this is the same stadium where Kelce officially hung up his cleats. Since stepping away from football, Kelce has been building a media footprint.

He co-hosts the New Heights Show podcast with his brother, appears on Monday Night Countdown, and juggles a bunch of other on-air gigs. Jason, along with his brother, recently launched their podcast merch, which was promoted on a huge billboard in Times Square.
