Experts say the MSG celebration may have cost tens of millions of dollar
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s MSG wedding celebrations cost a massive $30 million. Esther Lee, the editorial director at The Knot Worldwide, detailed the possible cost of the high-profile couple’s wedding. As per Lee, the couple reportedly spent $5 million alone on florals and decor (via Page Six).
Lee said: “We estimate the total cost sits in the $20 million to $30+ million range, cementing it as a massive economic engine for the local NY economy and broader wedding industry at large.”
She explained that this production would’ve operated on a completely different scale. Lee explained that just to secure the iconic Madison Square Garden for a couple of days, coupled with several days of load-in and load-out, along with the groundwork needed, could cost between $5 million and $10 million.
Expanding upon the exquisite decor, she said: “We estimate the decor and florals to be, at minimum, $5 million. Not to forget that custom draping and carpet installation had to transform the space entirely.”
Lee also estimated that feeding 1,000 guests at the wedding would have been a mammoth task. This is because they would have to ensure top notch catering. The food would have cost between $2.5 million and $3 million. Moreover, the bridal wear, menswear, and entertainment likely added another $2 million.
Finally, the wedding ceremony included customized presents, including beautiful candle sets inspired by the couple’s favorite sets and embroidered handkerchiefs. Every item featured the trademark “T and T” branding, all of which added to the final bill.
Finally, Lee shared: “For Taylor and Travis, that meant finding an environment that allowed for total street closures and direct, private vehicle access, which is why Madison Square Garden was a prime choice for the couple on this momentous occasion.”
