Andy Dick confirms he’s stable after being found in an unresponsive state
Andy Dick, a veteran stand-up comedian and actor, was found slumped over on cement stairs outside a building in Hollywood during the day on Tuesday. His glasses were on the ground, and he looked unresponsive. This immediately sparked concerns around his well-being, with onlookers and witnesses trying to aid him.
TMZ obtained pics of Andy in the state. Since the incident, Dick has confirmed to TMZ that he was okay. However, he refused to share any other details about the incident. A representative for the Los Angeles Fire Department told TMZ that they had responded to the call of an alleged overdose, but the “59-year-old” in question was not transported to the hospital.
TMZ revealed that they spoke to Andy by phone on Tuesday night. Andy confirmed that he was okay but did not elaborate on his condition.
Andy Dick has a long history of substance abuse. Back in 2012, the actor and comedian confirmed that he had been in and out of rehab around 10 times. “I would always say that I didn’t have a problem with drugs and alcohol,” he told Vice back then, “But I would drink when I was happy, when I was sad, when I was anxious.” He added, “Without drugs or alcohol, I was depressed, frustrated, angry.”
He has also been previously convicted of drug-related offences.
Andy Dick is best known for several Comedy Central Roasts. However, he has also made multiple appearances on film and television. His credits include The Cable Guy, Road Trip, Zoolander, Freaky Deaky, Johnny Bravo, Batman Beyond, and Family Guy, among others.
