Kim Kardashian had some of her father’s sombre memories return. Following her recent health scare, the American media personality could not help but remember how her father dealt with a similar situation too.
During an episode of The Kardashians, the 46-year-old initially spoke about a pain in her throat. Later on, her doctor identified the discomfort as esophagitis. Going by the description provided by the Cleveland Clinic, “Esophagitis is inflammation in your esophagus, the swallowing tube that runs from your throat down to your stomach. It may feel sore, swollen, raw, or burning.”
After a conversation with her doctor over the phone, Kardashian stated, per Entertainment Weekly, “Hopefully, I can just take medication, and this will go away. I just don’t know what’s going to happen.” While the American socialite’s situation is not concerning as of now, the 46-year-old has flashes of her father, who suffered from a life-threatening complication in his esophagus.
How Kim Kardashian’s health scare reminded her of late father Robert
Kardashian’s father, Robert Kardashian, passed away at the young age of 59. Diagnosed with esophageal cancer, Robert succumbed to a month-long battle back in September 2003. Now, when Kim also developed complications in her esophagus, she had flashbacks about her dad.
Speaking about the same, the 46-year-old stated, “I haven’t really told too many people about this just because I think it’s something that really hits home for me. I just don’t really want to go there with my dad having passed away from esophagus cancer.”
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star also went under the knife for her issue. Incidentally, Robert had an identical procedure as well before his demise. Kardashian added, “That’s the same thing my dad had,” while reflecting on the procedure of having irregularities in her esophagus being cut out.
